We’re excited to announce the long-awaited book Stroker: The Artistic Works of Tom Medley is now available from The Rodder’s Journal. This limited edition, 240-page hardcover has literally just been printed and is now in our warehouse ready to ship.
Stroker tells the story of the late acclaimed illustrator Tom Medley through his artwork. From his earliest days drawing cartoons in the Army to his time as a staffer at Hot Rod Magazine and beyond, this book is jam-packed with more than 250 Medley images spanning more than 70 years.
Cover to cover, you’ll find an excellent mix of favorites and never-before-seen works. Stroker McGurk, Fearless Freddy Flash, Flat Out Snodgrass and more are showcased in everything from rough sketch to final cartoon forms. The writing is concise, well-thought out, and includes Medley memories from some of hot rodding’s biggest names like “Tex” Smith and Alex Xydias.
Written and produced by Tom’s son Gary, the book itself is a work of art. It’s 12×12-inches, printed on heavy stock with vellum inserts, and features silver embossing on the cover. As an added bonus, each book comes in a collectible embossed slipcase.
