The 63rd Annual Detroit Autorama kicks off tomorrow at Detroit’s famed Cobo Center. We’re not always able to make it due to our magazine production schedule, but it’s always one of our favorite shows and we’re excited we’re able to make it there this year. Stay tuned here and on our Instagram feed for show coverage and photos from our travels over the next few days.

There’s always an amazing array of hot rods and custom cars on display, including the Ridler Great 8. We’re also looking forward to the Motor City Pinstriping Panel Jam and watching legendary customizer Gene Winfield and his Chop Shop customizing exhibit.

But we’re particularly excited that the Hot Rod Industry Alliance is hosting their annual Education Day in conjunction with the Autorama this year. On Friday, presenters from 24 different manufacturers will host educational and training seminars covering a wide range of rodding and customizing-related subjects. Then on Saturday at 3:00pm they’ll be hosting a builder’s round table for anyone who would like to hear how guys like Bobby Alloway, Dave Lane, Troy Trepanier, Andy Leach, J.F. Launier, and Jesse Greening approach hot rod building.
