It’s early October once again, and that means the Bayou Round Up is back! Now in its second year, the show brings hundreds of hot rods and customs to Lafayette, Louisiana, for a jam-packed weekend of food, music and cars. The festivities kick off on Friday, October 7th and run through Sunday, October 9th.

Cars from all across the United States are heading to Lafayette, Louisiana, for this weekend's Bayou Round Up. We captured Brian Auderer's Model A sedan, Cory Moore's '50 Merc and Laura Grable's '59 El Camino through the rear window of Steve Wertheimer's '41 Merc custom on the way to the inaugural event.

This year, the event will start with a Friday cruise to the Tabasco factory on Avery Island. Here's Steve Wertheimer's '57 Cadillac basking in the nearby Jungle Gardens.

Hosted by the Austin-based Kontinentals (the same folks responsible for the Lonestar Round Up), the Bayou Round Up hits all the right notes. Whether you’re into flathead-powered roadsters or early-’60s mild customs, there truly is something for everyone in Lafayette. Although the show is slated to bring over 350 cars to the Blackham Coliseum grounds, approximately 40 will fill the historic building itself, making for a period perfect backdrop.

The Blackham Coliseum has an unmistakable mid-century feel that reminds us of the early Oakland Roadster Shows. Just like last year, this area will be swarming with activity on Saturday.

Last year, we traveled to Lafayette to take in the show firsthand and we can wholeheartedly say that from the food to the music to the hospitality, it’s one of our favorite events we’ve ever been to. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to make it down to Louisiana for the second annual Bayou Round Up, but we heard it’s going to be even better.

You can't beat TRJ cover cars on the move, especially when they're as nice as Lee Pratt's '55 Nomad and '40 Ford coupe. Lee's behind the wheel of the Chevy and Tom Branch is piloting the Ford.
