Last weekend, close to 10,000 hot rods and custom cars filled the Kentucky State Fairgrounds for the 47th annual NSRA Street Rod Nationals. Despite the hot weather, participants and spectators came from across the United States to take in everything Louisville had to offer. From the main lots and grassy fields to the halls of the Kentucky Expo Center, the show and surrounding neighborhoods were jam-packed with rods, customs and street machines.
As soon as the gates opened, we jumped on the opportunity to walk around and see the diverse collection of cars on display. Whether you’re a fan of early-style hot rods or tail dragging customs, there really is something for everyone at the NSRA Street Rod Nationals.
Thousands of cars made their way to the NSRA Street Rod Nationals on August 4th-7th, including this trio of Deuces. Don Hansen of Rockford, Illinois, owns the roadster in the foreground, while Bob Lathery of Jeffersonville, Indiana, drives the scalloped ’32. The three-window belongs to South Hoosier Street Rods member William Kuntz of Salem, Indiana.

Just like in years past, we set up our booth in the South Wing of the exhibition hall. With CustomChrome Plating proprietor Jon Wright’s chopped, Hemi-powered ’32 (featured in issue #64) and a whole lot of new merchandise, the TRJ booth was a hotbed of activity throughout the weekend. We enjoyed catching up with everyone who stopped by.
